Oracle Database 12c Installed, but no SQL developer showed up -


i've been trying use oracle 12c , sql developer on virtual machine running oracle linux weeks process gets worse , worse , fifth time same installation again. used oracle-rdbms-server-12cr1-preinstall preinstallation process, added groups dba, oper, backupdba, dgdba, kmdba, , racdba. used the./runinstaller file comes database , went through installation process without issues. when installation finished , closed installer, there no trace of sql developer anywhere.

i'm not sure if oracle database installed correctly, i've been running command see if returns me in order check if database installed don't know if i'm correct. enter image description here

the daunting part of oracle database installing exact same binaries learning environment largest bank on planet has installed in production environment! oracle database sophisticated rdbms , takes years learn it!

oracle database , sql developer 2 separate products. can download both otn , install them separately.

  1. database creation

did create database (datafiles) while installing binaries? there checkbox in installer that. can create database using tool dbca (database creation assistant) in $oracle_home/bin folder.

  1. instance not running.

pmon vital process instance (processes + memory) indicates hasn't started. check /etc/oratab if there database added file. if yes, fire up!

# set environment $. oraenv orcldb # login sys , start database $sqlplus / sysdba sql>startup
