raspberry pi - Packages for dynamic obstacle avoidance using 2D LIDAR -
i want implement driver assistance on boat. vehicle controlled human upon detecting static or dynamic obstacles in surroundings want autopilot-like help. i'm new in software domain , finding suitable libraries , packages. using scanse's sweep 2d lidar(http://scanse.io/) , raspberry pi going run driver assistance software. have looked ros navigation stack (http://wiki.ros.org/navigation) , ros pointcloud stack. have investigated opencvs approach working pointclouds.
any tips whatsoever?
is worth digging deep ros , build/costumize obstacle avoidance package on own?
