centos - Cannot retrieve metalink for repository: epel -
i've got 2 centos servers, 1 inside vagrant virtual machine virtualbox provider , 1 on rented vps. use same playbook provisioning. fine on vps 1 i'm having errors around epel local one. i've reverted playbook few commits back, when 100% sure working, still same error.
i'm using 5 roles made geerlingguy in following order:
- { role: geerlingguy.repo-epel } - { role: geerlingguy.firewall } - { role: geerlingguy.nginx } - { role: geerlingguy.git } - { role: geerlingguy.nodejs }
running playbook returns me error:
failure talking yum: cannot retrieve metalink repository: epel/x86_64. please verify path , try again
when ssh vagrant machine , try run yum command:
cannot retrieve metalink repository: epel/x86_64. please verify path , try again
i can use yum if add flag --disablerepo=epel
that's content /etc/yum.repos.d/epel.repo
file
[epel] name=extra packages enterprise linux 7 - $basearch #baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/$basearch metalink=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-7&arch=$basearch failovermethod=priority enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/rpm-gpg-key-epel-7 [epel-debuginfo] name=extra packages enterprise linux 7 - $basearch - debug #baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/$basearch/debug metalink=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-debug-7&arch=$basearch failovermethod=priority enabled=0 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/rpm-gpg-key-epel-7 gpgcheck=1 [epel-source] name=extra packages enterprise linux 7 - $basearch - source #baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/srpms metalink=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-source-7&arch=$basearch failovermethod=priority enabled=0 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/rpm-gpg-key-epel-7 gpgcheck=1
things i've tried far:
- removed firewall role
- installed same version of centos vagrant vm , vps
- reverted epel.repo links https http
- installed epel.repo manually
- uncommented baseurl, commented out metalinks
