x86 - hyperledger sawtooth lake -- Intel only? -
i understand hyperledger sawtooth lake uses new secure cpu instructions achieve proof of elapsed time (poet)
does mean hyperledger sawtooth lake can used intel hardware? can other chips used?
quoting introduction section in specification:
the initial reference implementation of poet released hyperledger written abstract tee keep flexible tee implementation. specification defines concrete implementation sgx.
that means theoretical idea of poet not limited specific implementation, however, concrete implementation based on sgx (software guard extensions) is, far know, available tee (trusted execution environment) supports it.
intel sgx technology application developers protect selected code , data disclosure or modification, , enables software attest authenticity of running code. (more on sgx can found here).
sgx instructions available on 6th generation (skylake) intel core processor (or later) , requires bios support.
